Grade 5: Media Literacy Quiz Review

Let's look at a couple common forms of media together to practise for our quiz on Thursday.

THE LORAX MOVIE TRAILER (MISS ALI)

1. Who is the Intended Audience? (Adults or children; boys, girls or both?)
The Intended Audience is children.  It is a family movie.

2. How do you know? (What clues tell you? Example: music, cartoon/real life, theme)
The pictures are cartoon, not real people. The music is happy. If it was an adult movie, maybe the music would be loud or scary.

The Intended Purpose is to get people to watch the movie because it advertises the movie.

4. What type of Media is this? (Print, film, radio?)
This type of media is film because it is not just a still image.

5. How do you know?
I know because there are moving images and people are talking.
